Pam Barnhill’s Wonder Studies

Pam Barnhill’s Wonder Studies pull it all together for you! My mother-in-law introduced me to Pam Barnhill’s website quite some time ago. She was super excited about the idea of us using a Morning Basket in our homeschool. When I first heard of the Morning Basket concept, which Pam Barnhill, I think, is most well known for, and I know now lots of people love, I was skeptical. It took me a while to really dive in. Once I did, it became a staple in our homeschool and a way that we enjoy anchoring into many of our school days. I have greatly enjoyed the seasonal Morning Basket Plans so much, we all do!

Since diving into the Morning Basket concept, I’ve come to love the way that Pam Barnhill organizes information and infuses a calm, joyful tone into her plans that she offers us homeschool mamas. She took out a lot of the work for me already with Morning Basket plans. Then, I heard about Wonder Studies! I had to know more!

Interest based learning, and using unit studies, always sounds so fun! It is fun! Of course, it’s also work. Wonder Studies takes the work out of it and creates an enjoyable collection of music, art, literature, activities, and so much more to help guide you through a unit study. When your kids are engaged, they are learning. When they are playing and experiencing the world through their senses, they are learning. Wonder Studies encourages joyful exploration of the topics they provide.

Space Wonder Study

We explored the Space Wonder Study recently and loved it! It gave us a beautiful guide for exploring this topic in a new way. We had done a Space unit study before, one that I created last year. Honestly we love learning about the wonders of space, and have been doing it since the kids were little. Each time is a bit different. This Wonder Study, for us, was used in the spring. We had a meteor showing and the Pink Moon happening. It was the perfect time to dive back into a space exploration! The Space Wonder Study gave us a beautiful way to explore in new directions and incorporate poetry, music, and other activities that we hadn’t done before. We dove back into space with a renewed sense of curiosity as these celestial happenings were, well, happening! Pam Barnhill’s Wonder Study was the perfect choice this time around! We loved everything about this one!

The Homeschool Better Together Portal

Creating community with homeschooling, online or in person, can make a big difference to how you feel. It can help hold you up when you’re worried, provide information on resources, give you a social outlet, and so much more. The Homeschool Better Together Portal pulls together all of the content that you have access to through your purchases, and it provides a kind, caring, community space. It’s not a Facebook Group! This is important because a lot goes on in those groups that are useful and also a lot that is not so supportive or useful. The Homeschool Better Together Portal is a private space, managed and monitored by Pam Barnhill’s team. This helps to ensure an experience that is warm, welcoming, and encouraging.

Through my recent exploration of my first Wonder Study I got to also experience the Portal. Previously, I simply purchased her seasonal Morning Basket Plans and went on my way. This time I was able to access content without downloading it, unless I wanted to, have everything in one place, and connect with the community. This gave me access to encouragement for self-care, book clubs, free resources for planning, the shop, the blog, and more, all in one space. I love anything that brings good, wholesome, quality resources together for me. Then I can pick and choose what I use with my kiddos. Having access to the Portal…so worth it!

Thank you Homeschool Better Together!

We were so grateful to have been able to try the Space Wonder Study and access the Homeschool Better Together Portal for free in exchange for a review on this blog. I only create blog posts that are authentic and honest. I won’t damage a company or product by writing a negative review. Everyone’s experience of everything is different. What doesn’t work for us, might work really well for someone else. I will only write about our actual experiences, the things we love, the things we find interesting, and that benefit our homeschool. It is my hope that doing this helps others make choices for their own homeschool experiences.
